2017 Tote & Gloat challenge prize winners

We had another great Tote & Gloat show on Saturday. This year we had two Challenges for RCQ members. The description of the challenge is followed by the winners in each category.

Coffee Cup Challenge : use your imagination to come up with a quilt which has come from your inspiration of a Disposable Coffee Cup
First time entrant award 1st : Gill Christie - Inspired by Coffee
Novice 2nd : Elana Stalmann - Stop and smell the roses
Intermediate Merit : Kelly Gabbott - No name
2nd : Wilma Minnee - Coffee together, friends forever - this quilt also won Viewers' Choice

Advanced 1st Nicky Webster - Hot Air

1st Amiee Torwick - Orange Blossom
Open Challenge : Circles :  Use your imagination to come up with a quilt for this challenge. It can be any shape to fit within a 1.5m x 1.5m square.

Tote & Gloat 2017

Our Annual Tote & Gloat will be held in The Arena, Pascal Street, Palmerston North, on the 13th of May 2017.  8.30am-4pm.
Pre-registration for Tote & Gloat is essential – Cost $15

Our guest speaker is Rachel Maws from Annie's Country Quilt store in Ashburton.

Once again we will have raffles, challenge quilts, a Merchant Mall and your fabulous quilts all on show.
To help you plan your day, here is a rough guide of what is planned:
8:30am Hall open for viewing guest exhibitor’s work and merchant mall.
Hoffman Quilt Challenge 2016
Bandana Challenge
Hand in blocks for block challenge (info provided with our Tote & Gloat ticket)
Cafeteria open (we do recommend you purchase your lunch early before the rush). Eftpos available.
10:00am  Tote & Gloat begins
12:30pm Lunch break.
1:45pm Voting for Viewer’s Choice on Challenge Quilts and Challenge Block closes
2:25pm Guest speaker
3:15pm Announcement of the Challenge winners
4:00pm  Quilts taken down.
